CLUB TIJUANA AND HEREDIANO TIE AT ESTADIO CALIENTE
Xoloitzcuintles 0-0 Herediano, Preseason friendly

TIJUANA (July 3, 2019)- Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles played to a
scoreless tie against visiting Herediano of Costa Rica Wednesday in a
preseason friendly at Estadio Caliente.

Coach Oscar Pareja’s team played its first preseason game at home as it
heads into the LIGA MX 2019 Apertura. The Xoloitzcuintles showed a fluid
brand of soccer as it controlled possession for most of the first half
and withstood a flurry of pressure by Herediano in portions of the
second half.

Second half substitute and new comer Angel Sepulveda nearly scored in
the 62nd minute when he tapped a shot from inside the six-yard box but
it was blocked by Esteban Alvarado. The Herediano goalkeeper extended
his legs and stopped Sepulveda’s shot.

Erick Torres, also a second half sub, nearly found the net in the 77th
minute. Torres got a head on a ball and sent it just off the mark with
the goalkeeper already beat.

Club Tijuana used Gibran Lajud as the starting goalkeeper while Omar
Mendoza, Julian Velazquez, Diego Braghieri and Luis Fuentes were the
backline. Leonel Miranda, Washington Camacho and Miller Bolaños were the
midfield while Ariel Nahuelpan and Antonio Nava were the strikers.

The Xoloitzcuintles will now head to the United States to face FC
Dallas in a preseason match in Frisco, Texas. Pareja’s team will then
return to Tijuana to host Boca Juniors of Argentina in the final
preseason match.

FINAL SCORE
Xolos 0, Herediano 0
