Xoloitzcuintles 1-1 Cruz Azul, LIGA MX 2018 Apertura Week 4

TIJUANA (Aug. 12, 2018) –Club Tijuana played to a 1-1 tie against
visiting Cruz Azul Sunday at Estadio Caliente.

Miller Bolaños (79th minute) and Gerardo Flores (90th) scored in the
LIGA MX 2018 Apertura Week 4 match. It was an intense ending to a game
that had Cruz Azul playing with 10 men after defender Pablo Aguilar was
sent off in the 22nd minute.

Bolaños headed in an Ingacio Rivero cross from right to left. The
Ecuadorian striker got his head on the ball despite a defender on his
back. Cruz Azul goalkeeper Jose Corona got his right hand on the ball,
stopping it near the goal line but the ball had already crossed in the
air.

Flores scored in similar fashion to Bolaños. He got a header on a ball,
out-jumping his mark. His header rainbowed over Club Tijuana goalkeeper
Gibran Lajud, who was caught off his mark. Tied game.

The draw gives Club Tijuana a 1-1-2 record with five points in the
table. Cruz Azul remains unbeaten with a 3-0-1 record and 10 points.

Aguilar was shown his second yellow of the night when he fouled Jesus
Angulo. The Cruz Azul defender was sent off with a red card. He had been
booked two minutes earlier.

The extra man allowed Club Tijuana to use more space at midfield but
Cruz Azul managed to keep pressure on the ball. The Xoloitzcuintles
created chances, including another by Bolaños. He sent one into the net
in the 76th minute, beating Corona one-on-one but his goal was
disallowed. Offside on the play.
