TIJUANA (March 16, 2019) –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles’ midfielder
Miller Bolaños scored in the 62nd minute to help his team to a 1-0 win
against previously unbeaten Rayados de Monterrey Saturday night.

Bolaños tapped in a cross by Gustavo Bou to give the home side the win

of a handful of scoring opportunities created by coach Oscar Pareja’s
team against one of Mexico’s more dangerous attacking teams. Monterrey
came into the match unbeaten in its 10 games.

The win gives Club Tijuana three more points in the standings. The
Xoloitzcuintles are now 6-4-1 with 19 points in the 2019 Clausura
standings after Week 11. Goalkeeper Gibran Lajud in part helped with the
win after making several standout saves. He dove to his left to punch
out a Miguel Layun freekick with one hand at the final moment in the
58th minute.

Rayados tried to rally late in the match as it pressured and attacked

resumes league action with a Week 12 match at Queretaro FC March 30.
